Great for big families!

The photos don't do this home justice. Stayed with with my family on New Year's Eve weekend and found the house to be much bigger than it looked in pics. Plenty of room for all of us to have our own space when needed and for kids to play hide and seek. Beautiful view of Sacandaga and although we couldn't enjoy swimming, we were able to take a walk on the frozen lake. Larry and Stuart were very helpful and provided so much information ahead of time not only about the house but about area restaurants and activities. If you go, check out the video they have on the history of the Sacandaga Lake. Very cool! House was very clean and had lots of natural light. We plan to go back in the summer to take full advantage of the amenities!

Wonderful, relaxing Getaway

This Lake house is so wonderful! The sunrise is so beautiful, the views from the patios are stunning, and the house is in great condition. Our family met for a family reunion, as we live in different places around the world, and the house met our every expectation. It truly was a Home Away from Home! The kayaks and canoe were so convenient, and the amenities, like the ping pong table and games really helped our family to have a fun time. I highly recommend this house, which truly feels like a home. Enjoy!

Beautiful home, beautiful views!

We were so happy with our stay in Larry's and Stuart's home. The views were just incredible from the living room, deck, backyard, and not to mention the view from the shower in the master bedroom - what a surprising treat! We are definitely looking forward to staying there again!

Wonderful Weekend on Sacandaga Lake

We had a wonderful weekend on Sacandaga Lake. The home was clean and beautiful. The views are absolutely amazing as well. Plenty of space in the house as the basement is finished and very large. There is a nice collection of books, games, and puzzles to keep you entertained on a cold winter night. The owners are very nice to work with as well. I would recommend this house for a nice getaway.

Immaculate home with a beautiful view

My sister and I along with our children have enjoyed the last 2 Christmases at this beautiful lakehouse. Having grown up on the Great Sacandaga Lake, we treasure our trips home for the holidays. Thank you Larry and Stuart for opening your wonderful retreat to us again this year. It is immaculate and well appointed, having everything we could have possibly needed. The kids enjoyed ping pong tournaments in the basement, we loved your vast selection of books and enjoyed coming back to a special space to relax after revisting some of our favorite haunts.

A perfect place for a delightful reunion

Three couples stayed at Larry and Stuart's place, coming from VT, NY and MN. We are all well-traveled and have stayed at many vacation rentals. This place goes to the top of our lists in terms of comfort and beauty. The word "perfect" was used a lot. We all enjoy cooking, and having several of us in the kitchen could have been a challenge, but not here. There was plenty of room and all the utensils and cookware we needed. The bedrooms were all comfortable, and having three bathrooms was, well, "perfect". We made use of the ping pong table, the kayaks, and especially the dock, from which much swimming occurred in the pristine lake. We loved eating outside at the round table and comfortable chairs, finding it hard to pull ourselves away from the setting sun and the lovely mountain view. All I can say is, Thank you Lanes, for sharing the "perfect" place!

How to satisfy 4 Kids

Our family has been going to the Adirondacks for 5 years and this stay was one of the best. We brought a boat and use the dock everyday. The kids loved the place. It was very clean and spacious. The views from the home are gorgeous. Larry and Stuart were great to deal with and were as always very accommodating. So many amenities, we had everything we needed and more. We will be returning again. Thank you for the use of your beautiful home.

Perfect vacation!

We absolutely loved staying here. The house is very clean and felt like home. The view of the lake is spectacular. We spent a lot of time in the water swimming, fishing and kayaking and it was great to just hang out on the dock. There really is no reason to leave once you get there. It is very private and quiet. Our 4 young kids had a great time. The basement was perfect for them to make their own little get away space. We met one of the owners and he was so kind. We will most definitely be back! Thank you.

Very Nice!

The place looked nice online, but pictures never tell the whole picture. I can say that the place was even nicer than it looked online. Very nice kitchen and rooms where impressive. Very comfy and would stay here again with no hesitation. The dock was great too.

SPECTACULAR

For 10 years my buddies and I make an annual fishing trip to The Great Sacandaga Lake. For our 10th Anniversary, I wanted something special. I found it Over the years we have stayed in a variety of places around the lake. This year we stayed at Luxury over looking the lake. Wow we were blown away. This house was in the perfect location. The amenities were endless. (although we did not use any) there was a lot to offer. Spacious clean and with the endless lake views we felt like we were living in total luxury. It had everything we needed and I am looking forward to returning again next year I recommend it highly

Excellent view

We went with our entire family and with a newborn...this was her first vacation in 1.5 months :) and we all enjoyed thoroughly...the house is extremely well maintained....the lakefront view is breathtaking....we will love to visit again...

Another amazing stay!

Our group's second trip to Luxury Overlooking the Lake was as fantastic as the first. Larry and Stuart are very accommodating and have a beautiful property. There's plenty of hiking and nature nearby, but we loved even just hanging around the home. The house offers picturesque views and a peaceful getaway from the outside world. We'd definitely book again!

My group enjoyed the rental immensely

I came with my international group (consisting of two Americans, a Canadian, a Japanese, a Scot, and a Russian) at the end of the summer and everyone agreed the home was above and beyond our expectations.

Very Nice House

This rental is spacious, nicely appointed, and very clean. The photos on the site depict the property accurately. The deck overlooking the lake offered a relaxing place for morning coffee and evening cocktails, and provided a terrific location to watch the Labor Day “Ring of Fire” and fireworks displays. The floating dock was great and the ping pong table downstairs was fun to have. One thing that was not clearly disclosed in the listing is that the only way to get the kayaks or anything else into the lake is to carry them down a narrow and pretty steep set of stairs with a railing only on one side. This is likely not a huge problem for most guests, but something to consider if you prefer easier water access. We did have a couple of minor housekeeping issues, but they did not detract from our overall satisfaction with the property and perhaps reflected nothing more than “end-of-summer” fatigue. The owners responded quickly to our questions, handled our rental arrangements efficiently, and returned our security deposit promptly.

Grateful tell at a beautiful home!!

We arrived to a beautiful home, with all the convenience of being at your own home. The owners were very helpful without being intrusive. The view from the deck and dock is spectacular. We have family in the area which came and had a great time in the down stairs family room playing ping pong. Definitely thought of things to do on rain days.

Great Getaway

My wife and I rented this house for a week with our adult children and 2 grandkids. We drove up from North Carolina and the long 14 hour ride was well worth it. We were stunningly surprised when we arrived at the house and immediately noticed how clean and well-kept the place was. All you need to bring is food. Larry and Stuart have everything else covered from linens to cookware and even all the spices you can think of. The views of the lake are breathtaking and every room has a view even the master bath. Lake George is very close by with all the entertainment you need. We spent seven days there and could have easily stayed all summer. We are already talking about coming back next year. This is by far one of the best places we have stayed at. Well worth the cost!

Great house

Very nice house rough on the water. Great deck overlooking the lake! House is very well kept and there is a general store about 3 miles down the road that has most anything you would need.

Beyond Expectations!

A group of 6 adults rented the lake house over memorial day weekend and we were all impressed! We had planned the trip as a casino weekend for my husband's 50th and although the lake house was a bit further than we wanted to be from saratoga springs, the size and rate were perfect and the pictures looked great - so we went ahead. Boy were we ever pleased that we did. It wasn't long before we were trying to figure out a way to get out of meeting another group at the Casino Saturday night because we didn't want to leave the lake house? I can't over state just how clean and well-appointed the home is! The words "I need (fill in the blank)" weren't even out before you turned around and there it was! Larry and Stuart thought of absolutely everything for our comfort and entertainment. We didn't have nearly enough time to enjoy everything the lake house offered. Our group plans to make the Lake House the destination in and of itself next time!

Relaxing

We stayed here for a week and the pictures on here do not give this house any justice.if your looking for a relaxing place this would be it,time to destress.this house provides everything you could ask for and more.the wrap around deck overlooking the lake is just great.make the right choice stay here,stu and larry are the managers they make sure we had a good time and answered all our questions

GREAT GET AWAY FROM THE CITY!

We booked this house based on the location and the extremely competitive pricing. Our drive up from NYC was absolutely stunning! When we got to the house, it didn't seem like much at first, but boy is this place loaded up with all the bells and whistles. The bedrooms were beautifully appointed. The bathrooms were excellent. Everything about this house was superb, down to the little nitty gritty things, like seasonings and utensils. The basement is a great place to get together with your friends with their great sound system and very comfortable seating. The views from the deck and the basement were absolutely stunning and the BBQ grill was one of the best that I've ever used. We all truly felt as if we were staying at a luxury hotel for the better part of the trip. The landlord was very courteous and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this property to ANYONE looking to get away from the city and relax. If you have a sporty car, you will absolutely love the roads that you'll need to take to this home. It is literally the only house on this side of the lake, so you will have tons of privacy. There are house across the street, but they are pretty far back and everyone seems to keep to themselves. When we were here, the lake was completely frozen and we were able to walk on it! I'm looking forward to coming back in the future when it gets warmer. By the way, it was only about 45 minutes away from lake george. It is also about a 20 minute drive from a nice super market, pizza place, chinese food take out and a few bars. The pictures that the owners took of this place do not do this place justice. I am certain that if they hired a professional photographer they can easily charge much more for this place. Take advantage while you can! Thank you again :).

Wow ..... Luxury for Sure

Beautiful house. Understated in the description, simply lovely home. Really clean and more room than we expected. We got the quiet family weekend we were looking for. Surrounding area was very quiet and remote. Great activity was a 30 minute drive to snowmobiling in lake Lucerne (which we highly recommend) we used Bennett's snowmobile tours -awesome. I would love to come back in the summer. The lakefront property is beautiful. Thanks for the much needed weekend away...

Beautiful Property

We loved our stay at Luxury on the Lake. Even with the sub-zero temperatures, we were comfortable and had a beautiful view of the lake. The owners were extremely accommodating, and the house includes all the amenities you could need. The house was impeccably clean and had more than enough room for our group. Nearby skiing/hiking came in the clutch for us. We'd definitely return to this property and highly recommend it!

GORGEOUS HOUSE ON THE LAKE WITH A GREAT VIEW!

The house is absolutely perfect and fantastic! The rent process was very easy. Owners were extremely responsive if we had any questions. There are instructions regarding how to use all equipment in the house. In addition, we found magazines with available activities around the year. We could find everything we needed from lot of spices, oil, flour, and beer to kitchen equipment, ping-pong table, fire place, books, chess, board games, and fantastic lake view! We were staying for a week when there was a snow and rain. We always could find what to do in the house especially during 2 rainy days when we could not even get out of the house. There is a great TV system in the house. We just did not get a chance to use it being busy with board games, ping-pong, enjoying fireplace, hiking on Hadley trail, and skiing in Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center! Thank you very very much Stuart and Larry! We will definitely come back in the summer time!

Exceptional Value and Comfort

This place is exceptional. We had a wonderful time with our family get together for folks that live in the area as well as those that traveled from far away. The views are wonderful and the house is well designed and has the amenities you expect/need as well as would like to have. The water access/lake access was great and we always had family in the water or on the docks. We took out the kayaks, played ping pong, built a fire in the fire pit, kicked back on the awesome deck and of course watched movies on rainy days on the exceptional TV/Video equipment! Wi-Fi is a big bonus since cell service can be spotty (yeah!). Owners called on arrival to verify that things were acceptable (great touch!) and the process for renting etc was very easy and they are exceptionally responsive and attentive! I stay in the area on an annual basis, and this is by far the very best overall experience I have had using Homeaway/renting in Lake Sacandaga!

Luxury is a fitting description!

We have stayed in a variety of rental properties over the years, but have rarely stayed in a place that was as clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed as this home. (I emphasize the word home, because it felt immediately as though we were home when we walked through the door.) Every room, closet and drawer has exactly the things that you would want if you lived there. We were very comfortable. This house is situated on a rocky peninsula overlooking the lake and provides direct access off the back deck and down several steps to the water and dock. This is unlike many of the nearby properties that require you to cross the road to get to the dock. The view of the lake was excellent and the cool breezes kept the bugs at bay. The location off the North Shore Road was convenient, but the area is not built-up or "touristy", so there was little traffic and we found it to offer a quiet and secluded feeling. The town of Northville (15 minutes to the southwest) is probably the easiest place to get gas, food, a pizza or some ice cream. The location worked fine for us, but if you intend to use the house as a base for exploring the Adirondacks, you should know that you will have to drive several miles (in any direction) before you get to main roads. The lake is large and beautiful, with cool, clear water and a lot of room and not too many boats. (Of course, we were there a week or two before the summer season.) We enjoyed canoeing and also running about the lake on a rental pontoon boat from the nearby Edinburg Marina. We didn't try the fishing, but saw quite a few boats out and have no doubt that they were having some luck. Arrangements for the rental were easy and interaction with the owners was pleasant. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and, should we ever make it back to this part of the country, will certainly see if we can stay here again.

Wonderful Weekend

Our group of three couples stayed in this lakehouse over Memorial Day weekend, which we were very pleased. First, the pictures on homeaway.com do not give the actual house and surrounding property justice. Every room is a lot larger than what the pictures depict, but especially the kitchen, dining, and basement. The extra space from what we anticipated was nice. The back yard is fairly small, however, there are two large decks that we utilized to make up for it. The only disadvantage to the property is the two separated boat docks. The only way to get to the larger one is by getting in the water. In addition, the two kayaks and canoe were a lot of fun to use. Unfortunately, our entire weekend was full of rain so we couldn't explore the surrounding area or enjoy the water like we planned to, but the nice big basement and ping pong table helped pass the time. The property is also very private with no neighbors. This house definitely exceeded our expectations, as well as, the owners. They were extremely helpful and quick to respond to all questions.

Beautiful Place

We had a wonderful weekend staying at this property. It is spacious, nicely updated, bright and with incredible views of the lake.

This place is exceptional. We had a wonderful time with our adult children and grandchildren. The views are breathtaking and the house has every amenity needed and then some. After some trial and error we were able to place our boat between the raft and the dock for easy access even though someone had to get wet to unhook us, but the water was great and we always had volunteers. We took out the kayaks, played ping pong, built a fire in the fire pit and just chilled on the awesome deck. Having Wi-Fi kept everyone connected. We have already booked time for next year. Thank you Stu and Larry you are great hosts!

Beautiful House

I can't enough about our stay and the house. The house far exceeded our expectations, it was just beautiful with lots of space. Everything was perfect; house was well kept, great communication from the renters, and lots of stuff to do at the house. We loved the kayaks and bikes! We will be back for sure! Thanks again!

Wonderful... peaceful and beautiful

My family and I had a wonderful time visiting the Great Sacandaga Lake. This property is beautiful. Very open, great deck and oh what a view. My children (19 & 21) loved the kayaks provided. The owners are very hospitable and the communication was fantastic. The only drawback I can see might be the steep grade of the hill leading down to the lake and lack of beach. This would not be a place for small children, however that being said, if you have an older group you will be very happy staying here and LOVE sitting on the deck overlooking the Lake. We'll be back!
