Note: Cable provider and equipment changes often occur.


To watch TV: (Spectrum programming is available via Roku)
You will need to power up the following three components in order.

  1. Power up the Pioneer Receiver: Using the "Pioneer Receiver" remote, press the RED receiver button at the top left. The display on the receiver should turn on and read "VIDEO". If it does not read "VIDEO", press the black "VIDEO" button on the left, about 1/3 of the way down.
  2. Power up the TV: Using the Spectrum remote first press and release the <TV> button (upper right) then <POWER> (top right). It may take a few moments to power up. The TV should now be showing the Roku home screen (or screen saver). If no signal is detected, the TV input should be checked to make sure that "HDMI 1" is the selected input*.
  3. Use the Roku remote to select the Roku home screen and then the [Spectrum App] (or other streaming service).* Reminder: We provide streaming service for Netflix, but not any other paid service.
  4. Use the channel guide within the Roku Spectrum App to select the desired channel.

To Watch NetFlix/Streaming Roku Player: (uses surround-sound audio)

  1. Power up the Pioneer Receiver: Using the "Pioneer Receiver" remote, press the RED receiver button at the top left. The display on the receiver should turn on. If "Video" is not selected, press the black <Video> button on the left, about 1/3 of the way down to select it.
  2. Power up the TV: Using the Spectrum remote first press and release the <TV> button (upper right) then <POWER> (top right). It may take a few moments to power up. The TV should now be showing the Roku home screen (or screen saver). If no signal is detected, the TV input should be checked to make sure that "HDMI 1" is the selected input*.
  3. Use the Roku remote to select the Roku home screen and then the Netflix App or other streaming service.* Reminder: We provide streaming service for Netflix, but not any other paid service.

Volume is controlled by the white <+> and <-> buttons (mid-right) on the Pioneer remote control.
Channel selection is controlled by the Roku remote (Press > for the channel guide).

To use the Blu-Ray Player follow these steps in order: (uses surround-sound audio)

  1. Power up the Pioneer Receiver: Using the "Pioneer Receiver" remote, press the RED receiver button at the top left. The display on the receiver should turn on. If "BD" is not selected, press the black <BD> button on the left, about 1/3 of the way down to select it.
  2. Power up the Blu-Ray Player: Using the Toshiba Blu-Ray remote, press the red <power> button. The display on the Blu-Ray player should light up.
  3. Power up the TV: Using the Spectrum remote first press and release the <TV> button (upper right) then <POWER> (top right). It may take a few moments to power up. The TV should now be showing the Blu-Ray player home screen. If no signal is detected, the TV input should be checked to make sure that "HDMI 1" is the selected input*.

    Volume is controlled by the white <+> and <-> buttons (mid-right) on the Pioneer remote control.

*Things to note:

  1. To select TV input HDMI-1:
    1. Using the Spectrum remote, press and release the <TV> button.
    2. Press and release the <video source> button at the bottom left.
    3. Continue to press and release the <video source> button until HDMI-1 is selected.
  2. "Pay-Per-View" selections must be billed to your account.
  3. Check cable connections, if you are still having trouble.
